The Way of the Gods
From Bologna to Florence, a trek through history
The Way of the Gods
There is a smaller, but equally exciting Italy, waiting to be discovered: the Via degli Dei is a historic itinerary, 130 km to be covered on foot or by mountain bike, which connects Bologna to Florence, crossing the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Bologna, with its perfectly preserved medieval historic center and its 40 km of porticoes, is the starting point of the itinerary, Florence, a UNESCO heritage site for its importance in the history of world art, the place of arrival.
Path
The Via degli Dei with its red and white signs crosses the Apennines connecting two regions: Emilia Romagna and Tuscany. Via trekking or mountain biking it enchants with its splendid views.
Why Via degli Dei?
Because the route passes through places such as Monte Adone, Monzuno (Mons Iovis, Mount of Jupiter), Monte Venere, Monte Lunario (Lua was the Roman goddess of atonement).
